accessibility and attainability

The Nika Project utilizes many strategies when it comes to providing accessible tools for our students and communicators. We view accessibility in many ways:

  • Physically Accessible - whether using direct touch, switch access or eye gaze as a selection method, we ensure that ALL access methods are available and attainable

  • Visually Accessible - We make sure that visual needs are built into whatever tool and system that we use

  • Culturally Affirmative - As communication and educational tools are reflective of your individuality, Nika always ensures that content is customizable for icon choice, voice, language, and regional cultural sensitivity

  • Attainable - Nika understands that no tool will live forever. Even though we do donate equipment, it is important that tools chosen are reflective of tools that can be easily attainable.

Make it stand out.
